Since our childhood, at school and at the university we are taught to be responsible; our parents often reprimand for the lack of responsibility and, finally, when looking for a job we find out that responsibility is one of the crucial requirements for almost any kind of position. But have you ever given much thought to what is it that everybody expects from us?
First of all, responsibility is the realization of the importance of your duties whether they lie in doing your share of housework at home or managing a group of employees. It is understanding that by your deeds you contribute to some common cause and that other people rely on you. If you fail to fulfil your obligations, you will let them down. At the same time, it means to be able to admit your mistakes, which certainly demands to be brave and just. One may be mistaken – it is quite natural and nobody is insured against making mistakes. However, many people do not know how to correctly behave in such situations.
